Jason Batten's Heart Vision

At 14, Jason was hugely inspired by a youth teacher to read the Bible more. He got so much value out of the truths there, that basically  he became obsessed with it. At age 16 he knew that someday he'd be teaching these discovered truths with others. At 18,  he attended Roanoke Bible College in Elizabeth City, NC with no specific goals other than to figure it out.

Between 17 and 18, Jason began noticing that the daily emotional experience of life promised in the Bible was drastically different from what most Christians experience and is taught in church. Verses like “ Be joyful always.” “You are filled with a glorious and indescribable joy…” and others that painted such a victorious picture of the life of a Christian that just wasn’t there.

What was missing?

One day as he went to the Lifeway Christian Bookstore in Rocky Mount, NC he came across Wild at Heart by John Eldredge.  As he read the back of the book, he was inspired by it because the ideas ran so counter to what he'd been taught.  The book rang with a truth and wisdom like he'd never heard or understood before. Suddenly, he came alive! It was the last number to his combination.

1. Your Existing Desire Might Be God Guiding You

2. How God Can Inspire You As Much As The Mountains And Oceans Do

As he began associating God with the smell and art of freshly brewing coffee, the tantalizing shape of a woman’s leg, the sound of blowing leaves on the street, a mountain sunrise, and the smell of the ocean, he came to realize that this was the essence of God and the essence of God's focus, delight, and plan for us rather than the images that he’d painted of God through church services, moral shape-up plans, doctrinal arguments, and all the other things culture associated with God.

Knowing God's behavior and that morality exists to serve this priority of wholeness, beauty, and abundant goodness, all of it was nothing more than learning to receive the love of a good Dad.

The story continues…

As Jason continued to search and study these truths out in an even deeper way, God told him to start  an independent teaching ministry that taught these truths about God.  As he obeyed, incredible testimonials and results began to surface. People began experiencing literal, impossible restorations from applying these ideas.
